We are really sorry about no new posts on this site, but we aren’t really working too much on overclocking right now. This time of year is very busy for us – first Christmas, now Lewy’s and my exams, Gemmy has a lot of work too. Hopefully we will get back to OC soon :-)
It is an art, which was supposed to be funny, about not so great looking computer cases modifications. Style of this article is far from good taste tho, author derides all mods showed there (all photos are taken from Polish forums about overclocking). It wouldn’t probably bother me too much as I am getting used to people stupidity, but this….
We are testing i7 870 with MSI P55-GD80 motherboard at the moment. We have some SuperPi 32M and 1M runs with CPU just under 5 GHz using only old single stage unit (evap at around -25 C under load :-(). We will publish results soon, but I must admit I am very suprised by motherboard – few very interesting features. Stay tuned!
We are struggling with getting new hardware to benchmark at the moment :-(, so I thought I will at least add a post with some older results. I am not even sure if we ever showed those SuperPi runs. We did those on some Saturday afternoon at my place using E8600 and Biostar P45, CPU was better then average, that motherboard was also decent, everything done on Ln2. Screens and rig pictures below, hopefully we will be able to present some results from new hardware soon!
Its a bit quiet on our site, sorry for that, but our 975 EE turned out to be very poor, 30 liters of Ln2, a lot of hours spent on it and nothing really worth showing (I will add all screenshots later this week anyway, just waiting for Gemmy to get his HDD working :-)). I need to work a bit on preparing for my last year of Uni, so I don’t have so much time for OC at the moment. Thanks for all positive feedback we are getting about our “blog”.
Just putting new post to say that we are working on i7 975 EE CPU at the moment. So far CPU looks very bad to be honest, especially its memory controller, but RAMs – GoodRAM Pro 2000MHz CL7 (Elpida Hyper) and MSI Eclipse PLUS are strong parts of the config. Hopefully we can get CPU and its memory controller a bit higher. I will update this post with few screens when I get them from Gemmy.
UPDATE: Screenshot with what we got so far from this setup added (click “read more”). Still working on it, we really hope to push it higher :-)
Finally got our pictures from MoA 2009 Polish final from Gemmy, very cool overclocking competition and despite our low result (4th team with 5 teams starting in finals) I got very good memories from that event. To justify our low position a bit: Gemmy had very intense time at work and I was in the middle of my exams when we went to Wrocław to participate in MoA. But enough about results, cause there was already too much posts written about those on Polish forums and I really dont want to go back to those. Few pictures from that event in this post.
Big thanks to MSI Poland for organising this event!
Thanks to MSI Poland i7 975 Extreme Edition arrived today to Gemmy. He is just starting pretests on his single stage, we borrowed CPU for 2 weeks, so its very probable that we will use it for quick Ln2 benches. 2nd thing I want to test Wordpress option to put videos on site, so below is old movie from our first Ln2 sessions on very average E6600.
EDIT: Movie is working, but not in the way I wanted, still better then nothing I guess, hopefully we will record some short movies during upcoming events and benches.
