As probably anyone who visited this site in the last few months saw our team is not really active at the moment. I should post this much faster, but we are temporary suspending all our activities connected to overclocking, but at the same time we are not totally rejecting idea of coming back to OC one day, some people will be happy cause of it, maybe at least one will be sad. From our side we would like to say BIG THX! to people who helped us in many different ways in the past weeks/months/years with our overclocking projects, I should probably put here huge list, but I would probably forgot someone, so I decided to not do it :-). Whole BTL team is focused on things completely different then overclocking at this point, partially we feel burnt out, partially our priorities changed, anyway I always treated overclocking as a great journey, but as every journey it has to end one day. To be perfectly honest I am not sure if its “the end” or just break, I guess time will tell.

Finally after long break we can show some new results. Config maybe is not very exciting, cooling is just AC, but after all its 32nm with integrated graphics. Lets start with config:

  • MSI H57M-ED65
  • 2×1GB OCZ 12800
  • i5 661 ES
  • Scythe Mugen 2

Few photos of motherboard and CPU:

On no new content

We are really sorry about no new posts on this site, but we aren’t really working too much on overclocking right now. This time of year is very busy for us – first Christmas, now Lewy’s and my exams, Gemmy has a lot of work too. Hopefully we will get back to OC soon :-)

While browsing net today I found this link:

Wiejski Modding cz. 1 – PureGaming.pl [PL]

It is an art, which was supposed to be funny, about not so great looking computer cases modifications. Style of this article is far from good taste tho, author derides all mods showed there (all photos are taken from Polish forums about overclocking). It wouldn’t probably bother me too much as I am getting used to people stupidity, but this….

We are testing i7 870 with MSI P55-GD80 motherboard at the moment. We have some SuperPi 32M and 1M runs with CPU just under 5 GHz using only old single stage unit (evap at around -25 C under load :-(). We will publish results soon, but I must admit I am very suprised by motherboard – few very interesting features. Stay tuned!

EDIT: Screenshot with SuperPi1M added :-)

We are struggling with getting new hardware to benchmark at the moment :-(, so I thought I will at least add a post with some older results. I am not even sure if we ever showed thoseĀ  SuperPi runs. We did those on some Saturday afternoon at my place using E8600 and Biostar P45, CPU was better then average, that motherboard was also decent, everything done on Ln2. Screens and rig pictures below, hopefully we will be able to present some results from new hardware soon!

While testing Gemmy’s new GPU we did few 3Dmark runs, CPU just on Single Stage. It is really very very bad CPU, motherboard used was MSI Eclipse Plus.

Autumn is coming…

Its a bit quiet on our site, sorry for that, but our 975 EE turned out to be very poor, 30 liters of Ln2, a lot of hours spent on it and nothing really worth showing (I will add all screenshots later this week anyway, just waiting for Gemmy to get his HDD working :-)). I need to work a bit on preparing for my last year of Uni, so I don’t have so much time for OC at the moment. Thanks for all positive feedback we are getting about our “blog”.

Just putting new post to say that we are working on i7 975 EE CPU at the moment. So far CPU looks very bad to be honest, especially its memory controller, but RAMs – GoodRAM Pro 2000MHz CL7 (Elpida Hyper) and MSI Eclipse PLUS are strong parts of the config. Hopefully we can get CPU and its memory controller a bit higher. I will update this post with few screens when I get them from Gemmy.

UPDATE: Screenshot with what we got so far from this setup added (click “read more”). Still working on it, we really hope to push it higher :-)
